Dalby Rail
Duplication Bridge 


The project involved the construction of the Myall Creek Rail Bridge at Myall Creek, Dalby, to increase the capacity of the rail system carrying coal and other raw materials. The scope of work included earthworks, approach slabs, completion of piers and headstocks, erection of precast concrete girders and steel walkways. 


Project Features 

  • Final earthworks undertaken in tight frame shutdown environment 

  • Completion of 2 abutments and 13 piers 

  • Delivery and placement of 28 precast deck slabs including post tensioning 

  • Delivery and erection of continuous steel walkways 

  • High level safety procedures and practices required working adjacent a ‘live’ operating railway system including detailed shut-down planning 

  • Project completed ahead of time 

  • Minimal disruption to adjacent residents and no community complaints
